AWA Social Welfare
The AWA Social Welfare Committee's goal is to be responsive to the needs of the Indonesian community by allocating AWA Social Welfare funds to programs which directly benefit and improve the welfare of Indonesian citizens. Preference is given to those programs that:
Many of our projects help the economically disadvantaged, such as the handicapped, elderly and orphaned. We also place great emphasis on income-generating projects and projects that emphasize self-sustainability.
The Social Welfare Committee (SWC) meets to review incoming requests, hear reports on field trips, allocate funds and goods contributed, write articles for our various local publications.
Your involvement within the SWC can range from only a few hours a month to a few hours a week. Your participation can be in any of the following activities: field trips to evaluate new and existing projects, represent the AWA at BKKKS (government-level) and Interswat (a networking council of many different women’s organizations) meetings, handling correspondence, researching new project possibilities as well as distribution of donations and goods to selected projects.
For more information about our Social Welfare projects please call (021) 727 95256 or send an email to email@example.com.
